    this is my first wordpress site – i am not a coder (well only HTML/CSS) and suddenly when i try to login:

    You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

    no reason – and i cannot for the life of me figure out what to do – recently migrated to another hosting co but all was fine….suddenly not now – any help would be very much appreciated

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I moved to a new host 2 weeks ago, it was fine, haven’t logged in since then, then on Friday I tried to login, but couldn’t

    Aha! So this could be due to the site move. Have you reviewed Moving_WordPress in case you missed 1 or more steps?

    It was all up and running on new server and working. I could login etc but now suddenly it is not…so I don’t think it’s the move

    Well, there are only 2 real options:

    1. The move wasn’t actually carried out successfully
    2. Something has changed on your hosts’ server in the past 2 weeks.
