Have you sorted it now? It looks like you have added lots of extra side menu’s since I last looked. I guess you are still working on the context and have removed some pages, because I get the ‘this is somewhat embarrassing isn’t?’ message

Important to add some content to your homepage, that’s the first thing I’d be doing if I were you

    Tullah,

The reason why you get ‘this is somewhat embarrassing isn’t?’ message is because the pages are saved as drafts. When I publish them they get added into the same nav as the “home” “About us” I dont want them showing up in that nav bar except the side bar etc..

Do you get what I mean.

I am in the middle of adding content to my website. I need to get the side menu’s sorted as doing part by part.

    Oh I think I understand.

If you don’t want the pages in the main menu (black with white text), you should go to Appearance>Menus>click drop down arrow for the pages you don’t want there>click ‘remove’

Hi Tullah, Thanks for your help.

I want to keep all the pages underneath the banner etc..
    Home, About Us, etc..

The custom menu’s on the left hand side, each time I publish them pages (at the moment they are saved as drafts hence why the Embarrsing message) they keep going into the main nav bar.

I need to know how to stop this from happening so they remain in the menu on the left hand side.

Sorry I am new at this!

Judt so understand you, by “main nav bar” you mean the black and white horizontal menu under your header image? You don’y want the pages to go there?

I am quite new at this as well sorry. One difference I could point out is in your widgets section, you have the choice of adding ‘pages’ to your sidebar, or ‘custom menu’.

You can choose which pages to exclude from your custom menu

    Hi again Tullah,

Judt so understand you, by “main nav bar” you mean the black and white horizontal menu under your header image? You don’y want the pages to go there? < THIS IS RIGHT

Each time I publish a page, they work on the side menu but add to the main nav bar under my header etc…

    Thanks for your help.

You have improved your menus since yesterday. There were too many menu’s I thought??

Your side menu on the left should include all of your pages except for the ones you exclude by inserting page ID and comma in the widgets section.

The only way I know how to take the menu items off the blk and white horizontal menu is by going to appearance > menus

on your right hand side are your pages that appear in this menu. They will go there automatically when you create a new page and click ‘publish’, if you wanted them to go there or not. Remove them by going to the grey coloured box with the page name inside it. Click the down arrow on the right and click ‘remove’. This does not DELETE you page, it just removes it from THAT menu. I hope this works for you?

    Hi Tallah,

The menus, are set to how I would like them, I am still having problems with the custom menu / menu bar

Would you consider doing this small favour for me as I have no idea. I have tried and tried for this to happen and I can not do it.
