I am working on a site using a child theme based on TwentyEleven. The client wants a different header on each individual page. Not rotating, just a set header on each page that is different. Can anyone enlighten on the best way to accomplish this?

simply set a ‘featured image’ for each of the pages, with the minimum dimensions of the header image – which you will find in functions.php of the Twenty Eleven theme.

    I see thanks!

I have tried this multiple times, on both pages and posts. Setting an image shows UP on the post or page, but does not replace the theme’s header image.

The header image WILL change if I upload a new one in Appearance – Header.

Finding this support page however, I tried again and unclicked/unchose the image I’d uploaded as Header image, and chose the Random image. I again tried to “Set Featured Image” on a page, then on a post, UPDATE each page. Both of which show being PUBLISHED, yet when I load the page neither image appears. All I see are the Random images again.

Any ideas what I could look into, what I may have done wrong?

Thank you so much for your help!

I found a topic here noting that my “Featured Image” NEEDS to be 1000x288px.

Is that truly required? Or, may I set what size the “Featured Image” may be some other way? I do not mind having all Featured Images be ONE size, but I don’t want it as tall as 288px.

I found a post noting where in Settings – Media I can specify the various photo sizes to display, though there is no place to set a “Featured Image” size. Is that settable somewhere else, maybe a css or (gulp) php page somewhere?

While I am at it, if it IS possible to set size X for page/post X and size Y for page/post Y, how can that be done?

Thanks so much for any help. ??
