    Hi JLeuze,

Thanks so much for your fantastic plugin, which is working perfectly.

However, for some reason all of the slides are showing in Webmaster tools as ‘Redirect error’ – (Sitemaps / Not followed). Is there anything I can do about this?

I thought it might be because I hadn’t added a slide link but adding this doesn’t seem to have made any difference. I wasn’t really sure what to link the slide to though!

    With warm wishes

Hi Bryony, I haven’t run across an issue like this before, can you post a link so I can take a look?

This is a link to a page on my site with a slide show.

Ah, I see what’s going on. You’re using Yoast’s SEO plugin which is generating some XML sitemaps: https://www.relaxingyogaholidays.co.uk/sitemap_index.xml

You can see there are slide and slideshow sitemaps, normally the slide posts and slideshow taxonomy terms aren’t linked to and indexed by Google. That’s why Webmaster Tools is reporting these errors.

The slide post type and slideshows taxonomy can be excluded from the sitemaps in the XML Sitemaps settings.

You are so clever! Thank you.

I’ve changed the settings for the Yoast plugin, so hopefully that should do the trick.

So going back to the ‘Slide link’ option you include with the meteor plugin. how beneficial is it to add a URL that the slide should link to? I don’t really want anyone clicking on the slides and moving on anyway!

No problem Bryony, the slide links are entirely optional, you don’t have to add them if they aren’t needed.
