• Guys, could really use some help here. I’m sure someone out there will be able to follow this, so I’m just going to let it fly. Basically I’m transferring a site I built in wordpress and hosted on my own godaddy servers over to a client’s apache server. Per the tutorial, I backed up all the original files by downloading them to my desktop via ftp, then went to my WP settings and changed the two URLs to the new host, and downloaded all the files again as the “new” package to be uploaded to the new server, which I’m still waiting for them to activate.

Here’s the problem. In the meantime, I’m trying to get the original beta site and CMS capabilities back up and running again on its original location. I re-uploaded all the original WP files to my godaddy server, which I had backed up as the first step. Here’s the problem. I didn’t back up my original mysql database in godaddy before switching the URLs in wordpress. So basically when I try to revisit the beta site, i am getting redirected to the new server. I did just now back up the database to my comp, went in to the .sql file and changed the “siteurl” field back to its old location (my original godaddy hosting)…then I tried to restore that edited file on godaddy as the database. Thought that would do the trick, but now I’m getting this: https://jimbwayne.com/radnostix/wp-admin/.

Anyone follow? Am I screwed? At the very least, am I going to be able to get things up and running on the new server?

Thanks in advance. Appreciate the help.

    Jim
