Desktop install of WordPress

  • I’m still trying to install wordpress on my localhost after installing XAMPP. I get a 404 error code. If someone can look at this I have screen shots of everything from the config.php file through the error code and my local file structure that I can email to you.
    I am using Windows 7-64 bit home premium, and Internet Explorer. I get the error code after entering “https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php” into my browser.

  • 404 indicates the requested file does not exist.
    Are you sure install.php file present in your <web-root>/wordpress/wp-admin folder?
