• I am new to WP and am not technical, so bare with me! My blog web site is https://www.atticshoppe.com/blog. It is a recipe site. I have entered a bunch of recipes, but I don’t see any place where people can comment on the recipes. I do see the words “No Responses” at the end of a recipe. When I click on that, I get this list of errors:

    Trackback URI
Warning: comments_template(/home/atticsho/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/default/comments.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/atticsho/public_html/blog/wp-includes/comment-functions.php on line 28

Warning: comments_template(/home/atticsho/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/default/comments.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/atticsho/public_html/blog/wp-includes/comment-functions.php on line 28

Fatal error: comments_template(): Failed opening required ‘/home/atticsho/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/default/comments.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/atticsho/public_html/blog/wp-includes/comment-functions.php on line 28

I thought that I should see a place to add comments below my recipes, but I don’t. I have searched to try to find the answer to my problem, but I don’t see anything like it. I have experimented with different options, but I still get these errors.

    HELP!

  • Check the theme you are using and see if it has a file called comments.php. If not, then you should check the original download file and find one from a theme and reupload it into your theme. It looks to me like it is unable to find the file.

I changed themes, and now it seems to be working! Thanks…

I also did what you said, and that fixed the problem. Now I have to decide which theme to go with. I certainly appreciate your help!

No problem. Glad it helped! ??
