[Plugin: Secondary HTML Content] Updating from 2.0 to 3.0?

It appears that the version 2.0 that we have is not configured properly to check for updates of the plugin –?at least it offers no notification of the version 3.0 that is now available from the codex. What is the most intelligent way to do the update to not lose the data that’s already in the database?
