• I had been able to upload feature images to the site.

I am trying to create a page that will be like a photo gallery, hence I plan to upload pictures to be included in the text of the page. I managed to do one, and when I tried to upload another picture, it was sitting at 5 to 7 % and just hung up everything … after I rebooted my computer, I wasn’t able to even upload one. I hope someone can help with this!!! Thanks in advance!

If there is a better way to display photos, I’d love to learn how as well!

  • A very popular plugin is NextGen Gallery. It is listed on the plugins page here on the right under Most Popular. You can create Galleries, Albums, and Slideshows and include additional plugins that complement NextGen.

Thanks for your suggestion of NextGen Gallery, SwansonPhotos.
I don’t suppose you have insights into my computer hanging up when I tried to upload photos onto a page?

Might be you exceeded max post size.

Just downloaded and installed NextGen Gallery … I think I can’t get around having to figure out how to re-size pictures before trying to upload them … having same upload problem with NextGen Gallery, but at least my computer is not crashing. Thanks for suggesting NextGen.

Use FTP to upload each gallery folder first…then In NG create a gallery and import images from a folder (the one you just created and added images to)…make sure to set the import image size in NG settings first…the images will be resized on import. You can then also create new thumbnails to a size needed and additionaly add more files later in same manner to same gallery.

I REALLY appreciate your help, SwansonPhotos! Do you mind explaining what FTP stands for? Very inexperienced here! I think I follow the rest of your instructions … I did click on the box of re-sizing before upload … hope that’s what you mean???

File Transfer Protocol is used by web devs to upload and to backup websites hosted on web servers.
