  • You’ll probably need to edit the footer.php file. You can do this via an editor on your computer and then upload that file, or go to Appearance > Editor and find that file and make the changes.

My footer.php file looks like dis:
[Code moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please use the pastebin]

Since i dono much of coding m nt really able to edit the relevant section.
Cud u assist me regading the same dkotter??

I don’t see it in there, but I am thinking it’s an option in your theme. There’s a section in there that says basically get the theme options and display them. So I imagine that’s where the footer text is coming from. So find your theme options and see if there’s a way to edit what is in the footer.

Is it the ‘theme functions’ that your talking about????

It could be but there should also be a setting somewhere in the admin menu that allows you to change some settings that are specific to the theme, at least that’s what the footer leads me to believe. I am not familiar with the theme you are using so I might be wrong.

I’m not really able to figure out any such option in the menu; so I will try finding an option somewhere in the theme functions section.

I have’nt been able to find any option in the theme functions either.

Okay I just installed the theme to check it out, and the code is found in the footer.php file. The code you posted above must not have been the entire file. So in that file, you should find this and either delete it or change the text:

    <b title="Mantra 1.0" >Mantra</b> Theme designed by <a href="https://www.cryoutcreations.com" target="_blank" title="Cryout Creations" >Cryout Creations</a>

I did find the above mentioned code in footer.php and tried deleting it, but I do not see any changes in my website. Do I have to check for the coding in a different file?

Hi, from the designer of the Manta theme.
You do NOT remove <i>Mantra theme designed by Cryout Creations</i> from the Mantra theme because that is the copyright. Do you guys know what copyright is?
I can’t believe you actually had the nerve to ask that here and what’s even harder to believe is that you found someone that’s actually trying to help you with removing the copyright from our theme.
I think I’ll have you guys reported.

Do you know that all WordPress themes are supposed to be released under GPL?

I think I’ll have you guys reported.

    To who?

Oh ok i wasnt aware of it….
You will be pleased to know that I have maintained the copyright section the way it originally was.

    @esmi
All themes ARE released under GPL licence. There is one included with the Mantra Theme as well. But do you think that means you can remove the copyright?
The GLP says you can modify it and pass it on but defineltly not remove the copyright and make it your own.

But do you think that means you can remove the copyright?

Under GPL, you can remove its display on the site, yes.

‘Under GPL, you can remove its display on the site, yes’
This was what I had intended to; I had no plans of removing the Original Copyright and making it my own!!!!!
