Can't get into website via CPanel

  • Today, I logged into my website (hosted by iPower) and I did the updates WordPress demanded I make and now I get an error whenever I try to log into my site.

    The error is: Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /hermes/bosweb/web089/b895/ipw.pipdigitalcom/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php:2101) in /hermes/bosweb/web089/b895/ipw.pipdigitalcom/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866

    I want to log in to deactivate some plugins because that’s where I think the problem lies but I don’t know how.

    I read on here I needed to go in via the FTP but in order to do that I need to log into WordPress.

    This site was done by a former employee who was let go in a rather painful episode so I can’t go to them for help. I am “familiar” with FTP but haven’t used it in some time now.

    Would someone please lend a hand to this less than savvy webpage person?
