Integrating Page and Catagory Archive

  • Hello,

    I want to do something with my WP installation, and I’m not sure if it’s possible, or how to do it. Hoping someone can give me a few pointers. ??

    I want basically, a static page; eg: https://www.mrqwak.com/games/qwak/

    After the page content, I wish to list all blog posts of a certain catagory (or I could use tags). So for example, the static page for my game ‘Qwak’ will show all blog entries relating to it (and so on and so on for my other game pages).

    Please note, the URL I posted above, isn’t actually a WP page (it’s just an index.php). It may be an idea though, to create a custom page template (one per game), and use that instead.

    I’m wondering if I could edit a custom page template, to echo out the posts for a specific catagory?

    Is that do-able? Any suggestions gratefully recieved, thanks! (and Merry Christmas!).

    Or should I just create a archive-<game>.php template, from the basic archive.php template file. Then I can add content relating to my static page to the top of that, they just use that for my ‘static page’.

    If that makes sense?
