• Hi and thanks for the work you put into this plugin!

I seem to have a problem with W3TC and the Buddypress members folder in wp-content/w3tc/pgcache/members

I have about 200 members and I noticed that this folder is currently 107.4M in size! Every members folder in the /pagecashe/ are around 1-2M in size! Seems to much cashing for a small community?

    Buddypress Version 1.5.2

    W3TC Version 0.9.2.4
    Using: Minify (manual), Browser Cashe

    Thanks for your help

  • Just because a cache is large (and 100mb isn’t really that big), doesn’t mean there’s a problem. I don’t know anything about W3TC, but if you’re generating page caches for every screen on your site, then I would expect it to be quite large as BuddyPress adds a lot of screens.

I see your point and most won’t have a problem with this. But in a shared hosting environment this could be trouble. If you don’t have much resources to begin with the caching size on a buddypress+w3tc site could come as quite the surprise if you didn’t plan for it.

I won’t have problems myself but right now the overall cache for the site comes to around 132M /200 members.

The garbage collection is improved in the next release.
