Multisite – Create Sub domain not controlled by WordPress

Hello all, not sure if this has been asked before but I have not found an answer.

I have WordPress multisite setup and it works for the sites I am running but I would like to set up a sub-domain and install a different CMS for development purposes.

Is it possible to set up a sub domain and not have WordPress automatically control it?

i.e. set up dev.mysite.com and be able to install another CMS and another db for this CMS?
