[Plugin: WP Photo Album Plus] Can't get Lightbox to work

In firefox it works.
Probably you have ‘only’ the ie9 problem.
Many users fixed it this way:

On WP 3.3:

I copied

.../wp-content/plugins/wp-photo-album-plus/lightbox/prototype.js

to

.../wp-includes/js/prototype.js

that fixed it.

I did what you suggest + a reset of the plugin and it still doesn’t work. Here is exactly what I did:

Copy prototype.js to …/wp-includes/js/prototype.js
Table VIII-5 Load Settings
Table VIII-3 Setup
Table IX-9 Enable WPPA + Lightbox

Any suggestion ?

I checked it and it works on my computer, even in IE9.
Clicking the fullsize images opens lightbox with the image.

Mayby clear you browser cache, and try other browsers…

Did you select the appropriate links in Table VI of the Photo Albums -> Settings page?

After you suggested I use an alternative Lightbox plugin it all worked fine – I used Lightbox 2 (Version 2.9.2 | By Rupert Morris)and unticked item 9 in settings table IX. As I say, everything was fine for a couple of days. I then today updated WP Photo Album Plus to Version 4.2.11 and I have problems again.
Thumbnails open in Lightbox OK but other images do not – ie: %%wppa%% %%photo=10738%% %%size=300%%%%align=left%%
I’m guessing the problem lies with the added item ‘9a Alt Lightbox’ which is currently set to ‘Lightbox’.
So how do I find the identifier of my alternate lightbox.
Alternately, can I revert back to the earlier version of WP Photo Album Plus which worked?

Humm… This is very strange !

WPPA is a great plugin and everything works as expected except Lightbox.

Here, Lightbox does not work with any browser: Firefox 8.0, Safari 5.1.2, Internet Explorer 9.0.4, Chrome 16.0.9, my Android phone and my Android tablet. In all cases, I cleared the cache, history and refreshed the browser.

I also tried to get Lightbox to work on the NextGen Gallery plugin without success.

I also tried, like davidallen23, to use an alternative Lightbox plugin: Lightbox 2. It doesn’t work. For this, I have Table IX-9 Enable WPPA + Lightbox set to off.

I don’t know if it is important, but in post #3, I forgot to mention that prototype.js is not located here:
…/wp-content/plugins/wp-photo-album-plus/lightbox/
but here:
…/wp-content/plugins/wp-photo-album-plus/lightbox/js/
I have moved it, as you suggested, to:
…/wp-includes/js/prototype.js

I also found that Ajax is not implemented for my use on my server. 2 versions of the Framework are available: xAjax and AjaxAC but they are not installed.

opajaap, your help is much appreciated. What else can I try to get it to work ? Or should I give up and use it without Lightbox…

To make a few things clear:

The lightbox that comes with wppa+ is lightbox 2 version 2.05
It comes with prototype version 1.7

The version prototype that comes with wp 3.3 is version 1.6.1

If you leave the text in Table IX-9a lightbox it is exactly the same as before.

If you upgraded wp to 3.3, you have the old prototype.js back!

Please supply a link to a page where you want lightbox to work where it does not. Then i can see what is wrong.

I been trying a few other Lightbox plugins & a few have problems with certain browsers but Lightbox 3 works OK on thumbnails but not for individual images (as was the situation for Lightbox 2 which I was using)
So, it all worked until I upgraded to Version 4.2.11 and here is a page showing the problem:

Ah! As ever you’ve solved the problem. I must admit that since the setting states: ‘Slideshow – Slideshow fullsize link’ and I’m not using slideshows it didn’t occur to me that this would affect Lightbox, but then I didn’t read the Changelog properly.

opajaap, Lightbox does not work on any of my browsers using the URL on post 1.

However, I have modified the plugin options since then but Lightbox still does not work. Here is the actual URL.

I was under the impression that Lightbox was on full time, not just on clicking or selecting the full size picture.

Lightbox is now turned off.
