Fatal errors with hi-res uploads

  • I keep getting fatal memory errors with high resolution images. I am using minimatica. I tried to do these through the standard gallery, FLAgallery, and NextGEN. I am very new to WordPress, so I am not really sure about how to alter any of these or if I have done something to cause an error. Does anyone know a work around or what is causing this interference? I am up for changing anything that is keeping me from uploading the hi-res.

  • What is the file format? Generally the only compatible formats are JPG, PNG or GIF.

    What is the file size? Generally file sizes should be under 2 MB to use the uploader tool, sometimes less or more but 2 MB is often the default. If your files are larger than that, change their resolution to 72 dpi (monitors can’t display more than that – 100 dpi at the most) so anything higher-res than that is only serving to bulk up the file size.
