Category and Archive don't show continue reading

Hi, I am using Twenty-ten theme and I am somewhat customizing it to my likings.
1-I have noticed that my category and archive pages do not show continue reading, even though they show only a summary of the post.

2-Also, they are not formatting the post in the way it has been created. By that I mean they don’t separate paragraphs. they just stick all the paragraphs together.

Does anybody have any idea what it is missing?
