• I searched the forum, but didn’t find the answer I was looking for.
When you create a “page” in WP and enter a title in the top box, that title appears both in the menu, and above the content as an h1. I want to eliminate the h1 above the content so I can add a longer h1 of my own. If I add a longer title in the entry box, it is too long for the menu bar. For example, I would like to see “Pricing Policy” in the menu and “How I price my services” in an h1 above the content. This is for “pages” other than the home page. Any help will be appreciated.

  • This is one reason using WordPress Custom Menus is recommended. You can specify different nav displayed text in the menu system
    Dashboard / appearance / menus

If your theme doesn’t use the Menu system you can do something similar with a plugin called Page Lists Plus. The Menu system makes that plugin no longer necessary
