• I have a multisite network that we operate and is a mixed bag of a lot of different theme choices. Some of those themes require that you use the static front page setting to make their home page template come up first.

I noticed that none of the themes, including Twenty Eleven or Twelve will allow me to set any page as the static front page. If you set a page as a static front page it always defaults to the blog layout.

In the themes that require this feature to short circuit that from happening it makes the themes virtually useless. This includes themes like Woothemes Canvas.

I have read through the Codex and tried most of everyone’s solutions, short of hard coding, which is not an option I was hoping someone else might of experienced this and could help.

    Thanks in advance.

Static Front pages work exactly the same way on Multisite as they do on Single Site. These are per-theme and per-site settings, but I use a static front page on my sites on a Multsite so I know it works ??

    So let’s go to basics.

    1) Do you have a page created and published?

    2) Does that page work on it’s own?

    3) Did you set that page as the static front page?
