Highlight menu items and posts

  • I create the menu in my theme using wp_nav_menu.

    The page itself has a static frontpage, a page named ‘blog’ with all my blog posts, and a page ‘portfolio’ using the Simple Portfolio plugin to list all my projects (besides some other pages).

    Menu items are highlighted correct as long as the user is on the page level. However, if a single blog post or project is selected, no item is highlighted anymore.

    The information on this topic I’ve found so far is quite overwhelming. So could you be so kind and shed some light on this. Is it it even possible to highlight the current menu item on the post level using wp_nav_menu?
