• We cut over to a new company website in October and are now using WP. I want to go back and add old articles and newsletters to our new site, but have them back-dated to their original posted date.

Is there a way to force posts to display a date in the past, versus the date the post is made?

And/or is there at least a way to force the order of posts – i.e. if I add January, February and March 2011 newsletters, I can order them reverse chron, so they display as:
    March
    Feb
    Jan

    Thank you!

  • When creating a new post, click the Edit link next to “Publish immediately” in the Publish Pane., This will then allow you to adjust the posting date.

Thank you, Esmi. If I’ve already posted, is there a way to change the date? Or would you recommend deleting and reposting using your method previously mentioned?

I can’t see any real problem with editing the post(s) and changing their publication dates. WP will be quite happy with it. The worst you’ll get is post ids that may not make sense numerically (not an issue for most people) and the odd confused visitor who wonders where Foo Post went. ??
