How does theme approval query works?

  • I can see that many themes submitted 7 weeks ago are not assigned any reviewers and a few themes which have been submitted only 4 days ago has been assigned. So I want to know how does the query works? Do the reviewers pick the theme whatever they want to irrespective of the submission date?
