Have a client, who uses WP.3.2 to hold their site…and for some reason all of a sudden, when you click a post, make a change to the text, UPDATE, then go to see same – the changes are never saved.

You can do this over and over – and the changes to that page or any other page are NOT saved…it’s like WP all of a sudden forgets to save updates?

Anyone else see this happen? Is there a fix for same?

    ?

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – updating your permalinks by choosing the default permalink structure or re-saving your current structure at Settings > Permalinks in your admin panel.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder from a fresh download of WordPress. by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    Hmmm…okay thanks for the tips…here’s what I’ve found…

    – plugins – deactivated them all – only have 2 , eShop and statPress – and that made no diff, ie when I click the blue Update button the date for same never changes and the modifications do not last.

    – default theme – changed to 2010 – no diff. no changes made to a post ‘stick’ either…

    – updated Permalinks – they were already set to default, and agian no diff as changes made do not stick….

    – I have not yet tried the re-upload idea….but will that “change” the eShop pages with all our products? hope not as that’s a real task to setup and run…

lastly, version. right now we’re running 3.0.5…I did NOT update to the 3.2.x one as it seems to have been not so solid…should I try that now?

    ???

WHOA! just tried to make a change using the Edit Post area – but using the HTML tab to actually make a change to the code of the page…then Update was clicked…and THOSE CHANGES do register and work!!! However, the Update dates ie the last time there was an update do NOT change – it still shows days ago even tho I just made a successful change…

Help here lads? why would the WYSIWYG fail and the HTML codeing work???

No it will not. If “eShop” is a plugin it will be in the plugins folder in wp-content which you will not re-upload.

I’ve got lots of sites on 3.2 and I never had a problem with it. Give it a try. (that’s the same as re-uploading the files).
