[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] xml_rpc-32700?

  • Hi!

    I am using a buddypress (BP) child theme. I wanted to activate jetpack on my site after updating Buddypress to its latest version. For that I had to update my theme also. After updating both, I again wanted to activate jetpack. I know it has a compatibility problem with BP, so tried activating it when BP is deactivated. I got this error message

    Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. Please check to make sure https://www.smartmomz.com…/xmlrpc.php is working properly. It should show ‘XML?RPC server accepts POST requests only.’ on a line by itself when viewed in a browser and should not have any blank links or extra output anywhere.

    Well, the https://www.smartmomz.com…./xmlrpc.php link is showing a “Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_is_active() in /home….public_html…..themes/twentyeleven-buddypress1.5/functions.php” on line 31 when BP is deactivated but shows “XML?RPC server accepts POST requests only.” when BP plugin is active.

    Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance ??

    Hi,

    Try switching to the default Twenty Ten or Twenty Eleven theme (not the twentyeleven-buddypress1.5 child theme or another child theme), then activate Jetpack.
