  • Meta keywords can be added individually on each page and post, or you can set up standard keywords that will be added to all pages and posts automatically.

I don’t see that option anywhere. When creating a post/page, there is no Keywords field available. There’s one that allows you to enter the keyword you want to focus on in order to optimize the post’s content, but not to add meta keyword data:

As for adding keywords across the site, where would you do that? I don’t see that on the Titles page, or on any other pages.

On the Dashboard (WordPress SEO), General Settings, you have to have the “Use meta keywords tag” checkbox checked.

After that you can go to the Titles page and fill in the “meta keywords templates” for each or all of the selections.

Thanks so much! I can’t believe I missed that. Duh. Again, thanks.

On Version 1.2.8.5 I can’t find “Use meta keywords tag” anywhere, any suggestions where I can find this will be greatly appreciated.

It’s under the heading, “Titles & Metas”. Once you activate it, then on your “Posts” page, you will see a new box titled, “Meta Keywords:”

Now if you didn’t have this selected from the start, and you haven’t been entering them in as you go, you’ll have to go back to each and every post and fill it in.

I know that Google claims they don’t use it, but clearly that’s not the case. Anytime I’ve looked for a product, the only sites that come out on top are the sites with the keyword listed first in this meta field. So Google’s statements are contradicting the practical search results.

What I need to know is, “How do I move the keywords meta field to the top of the page?” Currently, the description is first, then the keywords. This needs to be reversed. Why? Because that’s how everyone else has it setup, so we must do the same.

    Please reply.
    Thank you.
