• I was playing around with a comment plugin a few days ago, and it has enabled the allow trackback and pingbacks on all of my posts, now I can’t figure out how to remove them. When I try to edit the individual post and uncheck the “allow trackback and pingback on this page”, it doesn’t remove them from my page.

Here is a specific page: https://getpaidwithfitness.net/beachbody-business/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi mox22,

Make sure the Send Trackbacks under Show on Screen has been unchecked as well. Open any one of your posts to edit it. In the upper right corner of the dashboard click Screen Options menu and deselect the box next to “Send Trackbacks.” This will remove the option from the screen for all posts.

    Hope this helps!

I tried this, but it did not remove the listed trackbacks and pingbacks.

    Hello again mox22,

I no longer see the trackback uri link on the example page you provided above. If you’re still seeing it, make sure you refresh your page and/or clear your browser cache if needed.

Just a couple of other things to check as well. Did you disable “Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)” in Discussion Settings in the dashboard?

I was able to remove the link from all of my posts by doing a bulk edit and changing Pings to “Do Not Allow.” If the link persists, it may be something going on with the theme. You can permanently disable trackbacks by deleting wp-trackback.php, but this is usually considered a last resort:
