  • This is probably a problem with your .htaccess file. Try deleting it to see if that resolves the issue.

Oh, great! I thought it might be. The problem is that I can’t find the .htaccess file on my server to delete it. It’s invisible. I tried removing all the text and uploading that. I just uploaded one to try to install a plugin (and the plugin didn’t work). Gee, I wish I checked on this post earlier, but I was busy. I wish this forum had an e-mail notify, but it’s ok.

So, instead of just waiting to hear back, I’ll try to work with my FTP software to see if I can delete it.

Yes, that was it. I found on the web how to show hidden files in CuteFTP. After I deleted the .htaccess file, the site came back. Thank you so much, and you got to my post in a nice timely fashion after I wrote it. ??

Just another note, don’t delete your .htaccess file if you changed your permalink structure. I did, though, but then I updated the permalink options page, which writes a correct .htaccess file. I couldn’t do that before deleted, though, because I couldn’t access my site at all. Since it was down anyway, it didn’t matter. The site’s back now, including the entries and archives.
