Custom Taxonomy Template

I’ve created a site with a custom taxonomy. Client now wants one category to be different from the others. I’ve tried using taxonomy-surplus.php and all the is loading is taxonomy.php. The site can be viewed here for reference:

If you go under Properties>Surplus, you’ll be able to see the page and URL, I’m racking my brain and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong on this one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
