Is there a good Google Chart (https://code.google.com/apis/chart/) plugin available?

So far all I’ve found are plugins that are discontinued, not working or severely limited.

    Ideally, such a plugin would:
    1. Like Contact Form 7, creates multiple tabs by way of different charts.
    2. Also like Contact Form 7, each individual tab (chart) shall have a unique shortcode (eg. [google-chart-1]) that allows embedding into any page/post.
    3. Allow data-entry into a table within admin options (somewhat like Google Docs)
    4. Allow all of Google’s different chart types: Pie, Scatter, Guage, Geo, Table, Tree map, Combo, Line, Bar, Column, Area, Candlestick, Annotated timeline, Intensity map, Motion chart,
    5. Allow selection of colors (use default if unselected)
    6. Allow labeling of plot points

Would be great if it allows for a live stream of dynamic data, but that’s not a must have in v1

Hey just saw this request and it sounds like an interesting project.

Can you elaborate on the live stream of data requirement, please?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Live stream refers to hooking up with a data source and refreshing data frequently.

Applications may include stock or commodity prices or currency exchange rates or temperatures or wind speeds or number of visits to the site..etc etc

or results from an online poll

But as I said in OP, a plugin would be massively useful even without a live data feed.

I’ll look into this over the next week. The live data will be tricky since the source format would be different depending on where it comes from.

The other stuff doesn’t seem too difficult at all!

    Brilliant! Fingers crossed. Breath bated.

True! I was thinking more along the lines of the plugin defining a format and then if someone wants to use the function, they ensure that they supply data in that format…

In my mind I had the image of a simple csv (pretty straightforward, even standard) or xml (defined by the plugin)

But again, I think 95% of the benefit can be achieved with probably something like 50% of the work, i.e. creation of the plugin without the live data complication, and I for one would be a very enthusiastic recipient

    coderguy, you are awesome!

That would be great, coderguy! Can barely wait!

Lots of interest- awesome! I’ll let you know when I have an alpha version to test out.
