Webmaster Tools

  • Under my webmaster tools it telling me that “
    General HTTP error: 404 not found
    We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.”

    Any suggestion why this is doing that. I have resubmit a couple of times and delete and readd the sitemap, but I am getting the same thing.

    The only thing I did was went to xml.sitemap and created a sitemap and upload it to my server. When I did that i went to google webmaster tool and added xml.sitemap to my web address and I just been getting the error every since.

    well, something ain’t right! Where on your server did you upload it?

    ARe you sure you have the name right? Also, why bother manually creating a sitemap?

    There are plugins which will do it automatically for you, and update it every time you post!

    gogole xml sitemap is one that just does sitemaps

    yoast’s wordpress seo does it, plus all kinds of other great seo stuff
