URL not changing after setting permalink

  • I changed the permalink setting to custom, so now when I open a page WINTIN the wp-admin area, the URL shows correctly as the page name instead of the default page id. But when I go to the site in a web broswer, it still shows page ids instead of the page names. Site is allaboutsmiles.us. Ideas?

  • Verify the .htaccess on the server. See if there’s something like:

    # BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On

    If there’s not make sure .htaccess is writable.
