    Hi Guys

Hoping someone can help i have the following code i need to embed onto my wordpress post.

    <object width=”100%”><embed src=”https://www.android.com/swf/conveyor.swf&#8221; type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”100%” height=”90″></embed></object>

Ive tried various plugins but as yet have yet to have it display correctly well at all in fairness. Anyone point me in the right direction some of the plugins ive tried are Kimili Flash Embed, Various Embed, wp-swfobject2.4.

Any ideas how to get this working all im trying to display is the android developers badge.

  • Hi appsdroid,

I was able to embed this in a post by adding a new post and then selecting the HTML tab (instead of visual). You can switch back and forth between the Visual and HTML views as needed when adding or editing a post.

    Good luck!

    Thanks ChristNi

I switched across to HTML as advised and have it working perfectly.

    Thanks for your help.

Actually…you can’t. It’s a long standing known defect with tinyMCE (the editor) that – especially when putting any sort of code in a post – switching between tabs will almost certainly destroy your code.

It’s fine to do so for normal posts, just not ones involving code.

    Hi appsdroid & Rev. Voodoo,

I’m guessing that either the WordPress version, type of code, or theme must play a role here. I was able to switch back and forth without any issues with the code I inserted. I even published the post then switched back to the Visual editor and added some text.

You make a good point Rev, anytime you’re working on code and a WYSIWYG editor is involved it is a good idea to have the code in a text editor (like Notepad or Sublime Text) as well in case something goes wrong in the WYSIWYG editor.

Nah, it doesn’t have anything to do with theme or version really.

I definitely suspect it’s the type of code. Some gets eaten’ some does not.

It’s an issue with tinymce itself, and has been a longstanding issue. A quick forum search would turn up tonnes of discussion on it.
