• Hi there,

    I have just followed the 5-minute installation instructions and I am trying to get my website https://www.i-steins.com (as you can see, I am not one of them ?? ) up.

    However typing in https://www.i-steins.com results in a file downloaded, having the following content:

    <?php
    /**
     * Front to the WordPress application. This file doesn't do anything, but loads
     * wp-blog-header.php which does and tells WordPress to load the theme.
     *
     * @package WordPress
     */

    /**
     * Tells WordPress to load the WordPress theme and output it.
     *
     * @var bool
     */
    define('WP_USE_THEMES', true);

    /** Loads the WordPress Environment and Template */
    require('./wp-blog-header.php');
    ?>

    Any advice?
    It is happing within a PLESK environment.

    Regards,

    Mark

  • Check that PHP is running on your server.

    Hi Mark,

    I have seen this issue in the past. Like esmi stated, most likely your host may not be setup for php. If you are running this on your local server, you’ll want to review your php setup.

    Another thing I’ve seen in the past is that certain items in your .htaccess file could cause this problem, so you’ll want to check your .htaccess files. If you are managing your server yourself and using cPanel / WHM, you may want to check your “Configure PHP and SuExec” within WHM.

    A number of things could cause this problem, keep us updated, we’re more than happy to help.

    Hi Mark,

    I see that https://www.i-steins.com is now working. I’m curious to know (and it would help others finding this thread) what was causing the php script to download instead of the server actually parsing it and returning html?
