  • Not sure what you mean by non-static.

    If you mean having the ability to change the menu itself, you can manage this from the Appearance > Menu options in the Dashboard if your theme supports it. You can also set up child menu items in here too by indenting their position.

    If you mean changing the colours on hover-over you’ll need to alter your themes css.

    I guess i mean having category navigation at the top. For instance if I have a diy blog post i would like it to be sorted into a diy page that can be accessed at the top menu bar. Thanks again

    From the Menus option in the Dashboard you can assign Categories a spot on the Menu bar if your theme supports custom menus. See the WordPress Codex: Appearance Menus Screen for more info.
