[Plugin: Gravity Forms Custom Post Types] Post Title, and Conditional Custom Post Types

    I’ve read the documentation, but I’m not finding it intuitive. (i’m also new to Gravity Forms, so that may be why.)

    “Add a post title field to your form and under the advanced tab, tick the “Save As Custom Post Type” checkbox. A dropdown will appear with the available custom post types. Select the one you want.”

    Do I have to have the “Post Title” field displaying in the form in order to save as a custom post type? I guess it gives the user a chance to title his form entry, but what if I want to minimize how much typing the user does?

    Also more importantly: how can I conditionally save a form into a different custom post type, depending on an option selected (for instance, into Recipes or Feedback, based on what the user selects).

  • Perhaps Have a drop-down that has Recipes and Feedback.

    Then add a Post Title & Post Body linking to Recipes Custom Post Type.

    Again add a Post Title & Post Body this time linking to the Feedback Custom Post Type.

    Add some conditional logic to display these fields based on the selection from the initial drop-down selection.

    hmmmm, this is an interesting scenario that I have not thought of before. Off the top of my head, I do not think it can be done, but I will give it a try and post my findings…

    just as i suspected. GF will only allow you to add a single post title field to the form.

    This will be a cool feature for the next version though ??

    just to answer your question : yes you have to include a post title field to the form in order to save it to a post type. And no you cannot save to different post types conditionally… at this stage
