• I’ll admit it, guys, I’m stumped. I’ve read through all the forum posts on comments that aren’t working and only seem to refresh the page when you click “submit.”

    First of all, under “Discussion Options”, all three boxes under “Usual settings for an article” are checked, but other than that, only “Comment author must fill out name and e-mail” is checked.

    Second of all, here’s what is in my index.php page relating to comments. I was fiddling with this based on what other posts said, so please tell me if it looks funky:

    “>Comments
    <P>
    <?php comments_template(); // Get wp-comments.php template ?>

    (**note: the code isn’t showing up properly in this post)

    Third, I’m using WordPress 1.5. Would upgrading to 1.5.1.3 fix my comments problem, given that I didn’t used to have this problem under 1.5?

    Fourth, my comments template seems to be fine–I haven’t changed it or deleted it.

    Fifth, my site is here: https://www.clutchpearls.com

    Thanks very much.

    Adrienne

  • Did the theme designer supply all the correct code ?
    have you compared your code to that in a default theme ?

    that’s odd. i used that exact theme when i first installed wordpress 1.5 and had no problem with it.

    The theme designer’s code is correct, and the only reason I know that is because comments *used* to show up on the site when I started using this Retrospotive template. It’s only been recently that they haven’t been working.

    What change did you make just before it went wrong ?

    The only thing that I can think of is that I played around with my Discussion Options checkboxes…sometimes I would check all of the options (i.e., comments had to be approved, name&e-mail filled out, previously approved comment), sometimes none. I was having a problem with comment spam so after I deleted the bulk of that I shut down comments (and posts) temporarily, but when I turned them back on they weren’t working.
