Theme editor does not allow me to edit php files associated with theme

  • Hello,
    I tried to make the Very Plain Text theme show author names under each post. However, when I go to Appearance -> Editor, it shows only CSS and images. How could I edit the php files? Thanks?

  • To edit the .PHP files as far as I’m aware, you have to use an FTP program, for Windows a free one is WINSCP for Mac: Cyberduck and FileZilla are two good free clients. (I’ve used all three of these programs and WINSCP is my favorite by far!) But the FTP program will allow you to edit the PHP files.
