Cant Remove Header Background?

  • Ive downloaded a lovely theme – started tweaking etc – yet to break anything – but I want to upload a transparent header – but if I do – it still has a grey background???

    Also the black line around the edging seems to continue all the way round. Is there a way to:

    A) Stop the black line round the edging stop when it gets to the header

    B) Remove the grey background on the header

    Ultimately I need to upload a header and have it ‘floating’ so that the body of the blog is all bordered and what not – but the Logo just looks like a floating design.

    Have I posted this in the wrong section?

    If so, can anyone advise a better place to get support on WordPress themes?
