• Hi, I am having MAJOR issues with NextGen gallery. I never used to have problems but lately any time I try and upload a new photo I get “Internal Server Error.” If I switch to java uploader I get “HTTP ERROR 500.”

This is extremely frustrating. I have searched Google for the past 3 hours trying to find a fix, I have tried modifying my .htaccess file with numerous different codes I found online and I have tried changing my PHP memory limit and changing permissions on my gallery folder to 777 and nothing works!

I can upload images manually via FTP and then use the “Import image folder” option but this is not acceptable since the majority of contributors for the website do not have access to FTP nor would they know how to use it.

Can anyone help me fix this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I was with the same problem as well and after trying everything you say, we found the problem when we enable the error logs on apache. Rather than just see the “http 500 internal server error” we saw an error conflict with the google document embedder plugin. We deactivate the plugin and problem solved!

it could be your case, a conflict with a plugin, but it would be better if you see your error logs. I hope this will help you

Thanks for the reply, that is not the case though, the first thing I tried was disabling all my plugins and reverting to the default WordPress theme and I was still getting the error.
