• Since installing the latest version of WordPress MU (3.2.1-Fr), the internal search engine no longer allows me to find sites referenced. The search only works by specifying the id of the blog …
Do you have the same problem? Has a setting that would have escaped?

Thank you in advance for your answers

Does it work if you use the full name of the site?

yes it works with the full name or the id but no more with a part of the name…

Assuming your site’s name is ‘carballo’, search for ‘car*’ and see what happens.

IIRC this is by design and has been so since … 3.1?

that does not work all time…
    if my site’s name is “test10” :
    – “test1*” works
    – “test*” works
    – …
    but
    – “*est10” doesn’t work
    – “*10” doesn’t work

and if my site’s name begins with a number like “10test” nothing works…
    example “10*” doesn’t work

Do you know the codex’s page about this new search engine because I don’t understand how is working…

It’ll never work with the * in front.

This change was made to behave better with the server (search ran faster and with less of a chance to slow your site down).
