My site seems to have been hacked. When I go to my site it starts to redirect me to some other page. I first noticed this yesterday. I used the antivirus plug in to run a scan and this is a sample of what came back. There a bunch of these where it highlights the word “include”. Can I just go in and delete the word “include” to fix this?

Did you use a free theme from an untrusted site? If so, it is probably hidden code inside your template (maybe with a decode64 function).

No I didn’t I bought the theme for $70 and it worked fine for over a year.

You’re hacked. The first Bad Thing(tm) that sticks out is line 56 and 57 of your HTML source code.

Line 56 is an iframe, 57 is obscured javascript. You’ll have to delouse your blog, here comes the boiler plate…

After you’ve read through that, you want to take a backup of everything and put it somewhere safe.

Once you’ve cleaned up and are satisfied, make another fresh backup as well of the clean blog. The backup is your friend and should be respected. It will put you right where you were incase the Really Bad Thing(tm) happens.

What if my hosting company rolls the site back thirty days from their back up? Will that fix the problem?

Just to not: some hosting services have different options for backup, where Im at I can backup the entire site (site root, MySQL and mail) but the host wont restore from an entire backup; it can only be restored if you back up each: site root, MySQL.. separately. check if this is the case with your host–you dont want to have a backup that you cant restore.

first reason may be you are over using the hosting resources and your site got suspended. In that time some hosting companies redirect your site to some spam sites like that. upgrading your plan is the best option.

That wasn’t the case here.

In that time some hosting companies redirect your site to some spam sites like that. upgrading your plan is the best option.

Never saw that before but any hosting that does that needs to go out of business NOW.

Jan Dembowski, if the hosting account is free then that could happen and I have personal experience. When I started with the websites I tried a free hosting, even if they were free their service was good but when my traffic increased they started to suspend my account for 24 hours period and during the suspension time my site redirected to some unknown websites.

The site is working again. I called my hosting company and had them roll back to a back up in their servers from 30 days ago. After that, everything was fixed.
