• I’m using version 1.4.3 of JW Player on WordPress 3.2.1 and when I try to load files or playlists I see them briefly and then the player is replaced by a white box with a gray exclamation point. This is happening on IE 8, but plays fine on Firefox. Using Safari on a PC I see the player the whole time but clicking play does nothing. Using Safari on a Mac works just fine, and playing the videos on my Ipod Touch works ok as well.

    I cannot include a link because the site is a private intranet. Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas on how I can fix it? Too many of my users are on IE for me to ignore this problem. Please help.

    I should also include that this plugin worked fine for me just a couple weeks ago. Since then I believe I have updated the plugin. Maybe reverting to an old version is the answer?

    Thanks,

    @rjlicata,

    It’s difficult to debug without actually seeing the implementation.

    Are you seeing any JavaScript errors or any 404s when page assets load?

    Thanks.

    Hi, thanks for your help. I do not see any errors. Only the exclamation point where the player should be. The player actually loads, then leaves and is replaced by the exclamation point.

    Do you have any recommendations for a quick fix? Should I revert to a previous version?

    Were you able to resolve this issue?

    The exclamation point usually means there’s an issue with the video itself. It could be a format issue or possibly a permission issue.

    Thanks.
