Newbie need help .How does my site look ?

  • I am a newbie ,I just started a site that I am using for Jamaican vacation information,Jamaican food,Jamaican herbs and events. I need critiques on this sit ,what has to be changed. I have very little experience in doing a website ,I am basically feeling my way through this one.

    I really am very uncomfortable with the first page, i need one that readers can navigate from the front page and decide what they want to read.Does this mean I have to have a more professional theme ? Do you think the color is too hard on the eyes ?

    help please !!!

    over all its great. but i sugest you to change that site to html5, if you dont really understain about html5, you can change

    Yes, the color is dark. But, I don’t think you need to switch themes unless you can’t change the color of main body. Black text on a dark green background is very difficult to read. Since you have the same color for the overall background, try switching to a lighter shade of green or just go with white for the main body. Or you could try switching to white text or the light green you use for your main navigation. Try it both ways and see which one you like better.

    Your theme is relatively simple with straight forward navigation, that’s good. The main navigation runs down over the yellow flower and becomes unreadable. Probably going to want to change that some way.

    Thanks Nick !! I appreciate your input. I definitely will try changing some colors.Yes I realized that the section with the flowers is not legible, thanks so much. I am so happy I did this post.This is really great help.

    Look into parent/child navigation bar pages to clean up the navbar.
