• Hey, I want to remove comments from my whole site (its not a blog). I’m using PressWork. I don’t want comments on the site anywhere at all. Thanks in advance…

  • pages->edit, and below the block with text you will see a bar called ‘discussion’ (or ‘comments’). Open the dropdown and uncheck ‘anyone can comment’. That’s for one page.

    Under settings->discussions you can uncheck comments for the whole site.

    I don’t get that discussion or comments bar. And in Settings-> Discussion I get this Allow people to post comments on new articles which I have already disabled..

    And they still appear or do you get some sort of “comments closed” notification?

    In any case, the harder way is to just remove the comments template from your theme. Depending on if you’re looking to the index, single view or archives of your posts or a page, you have to edit the index.php, single.php, archive.php or page.php. Of course this is not the same in every theme. Especially since Twentyten themes look different, but what you’re looking for is this:
    <?php comments_template(); ?>
    Get rid of it and get ridd of the comments call entirely.

    There is a big comment box under every page. I had a comments.php file in my theme which I cleared off entirely, and it removed the comment box too… Thanks
