WordPress.com stat versus google analytics

  • I just installed the wordpress.com stats plugin and its giving me wildly different numbers than what I had been getting, and still am, at google analytics site.

    Anyone know why that might be?

    And is one more reliable than the other for getting a look at who is visiting and so forth.
