• I have my site set up so that “An administrator must always approve the comment”. I had the “E-mail me whenever” option set at “A comment is held for moderation”. However, I don’t want the post author getting notification emails about a new comment.

How can I set it up so that only the admin receives an email about a comment that’s being held for moderation?

  • You would need to find a plugin to modify the email notifications, try having a google search for that.

I’ve already searched for everything that I can think of and I can’t find anything.

You shouldn’t have to use a plugin for this, you should be able to disable it. I’ve noticed this same thing after upgrading to 3.2.1 – now my authors are getting comment notification emails when a comment on one of their posts is flagged for moderation.

There should be a way to disable this feature, but I can’t find it.

The only “fix” that I’ve found is to disable the “E-mail me whenever” “A comment is held for moderation” option. That’s not what I want though.

I agree, this should be inherent to the discussion settings. Not all administrator qualified user’s need to receive comment notifications.
