Can't login in Back-end

    Hi all,

    I’ve moved my WP site to a different domain.
    But kept the original installation intact.
    However, when I try to login in the back-end, I constantly get redirected to the new installation (the moved one) to login there.

    Where I want to login is https://netwerkeninbelgie.be/wp-admin
    I’ve emptied my browser cache and deleted all cookies.

    How can I restore this?

    Hi Marventus,

    Thanks for the link. This codex is so extensive, that I find it most of the times hard to understand.
    Anyway, I manage to solve my login problem by changing the site URL in the database using MyphpAdmin.

    Now, a question for some advice:
    I cloned my site the wrong way. What happened in the end is that I have 2 websites (nwibold.nwib.be and https://www.nwib.be). The first one is a Joomla site, the second one a WP site.

    What I’ve done is (apparently) merge the two databases into one.
    Both sites work just fine.
    I’ve checked the database, and there are loads of J_tables and loads of WP_tables.

    Since both sites are working fine, is this a (future) problem? or can I just leave it like this?

    Hi Cris,

    Glad you could work it out. As for your question, it depends whether or not you wish to keep both sites up. If you do, then it’s not such a big deal to have a Joomla! and a WP install on the same database.
    I know of a lot of people out there that host different WP installations from the same database (using different table prefixes) because of limitations in their hosting plans.
    However, if you wish to eventually loose the Joomla! site and you are only keeping it around temporarily for traffic, you could simply delete the Joomla! tables from the DB and leave the WP ones when you are ready.
    While you have both sites around, beware of duplicate content, such as posts or pages you may have on both sites, because search engines penalize that sort of thing.
