Category template: Show one post per subcategory

  • Hey all, trying to get a push in the right direction with this code. I’ve been digging through the codex for a while and I’m starting to run in circles.

    My plan is that I’ve got one Category (‘Comics’) and on that category’s page I want it to list every subcategory on it (so every comic series we have) with a title, description, and post thumbnail (from the latest post). I tried the get_category function but don’t know how to get the post thumbnail embedded into it.

    Any tips?
