Progress indicator

I was wondering if there’s a way to add a “percent loaded” type of progress bar that comes up as the image is loading into Jquery Colorbox. That way if I’m having a somewhat large image loading into colorbox, people would know something is being loaded rather than just seeing the spinning circle animation.
