Hi Lili, it looks like the slide images are 200px high, but did you change the height in the slideshow settings to 200px? It looks like it is still set to 377px in the settings. This option controls not just the height of the images, but also the slideshow itself.

    Hello JLeuze,

Yes I did. I change the height in the slideshow setting to 377px. because the size of my pictures are 567*377

    Thanks,
    Lili

Hi, I’m having the same problem… I can change the size of the width of my slideshow, but it stays the same proportion, which is significantly less tall than the actual height of the images.

The real dimension of the images is 609×287, but they show up as 609×200. If I change the width of the slideshow to something arbitrary, like 300, the size of the slideshow changes to 99px tall, keeping the same proportion as if the real height was 200. This aspect ratio cannot be changed, i.e., I can’t keep the width an arbitrary 300 and specify a height of 400… it remains at the same 99, in spite of the fact that I put 400 in the height field in Settings.

Something is causing the aspect ratio to be locked to a height that is not related to the number in the Height field in settings. If there’s a way to fix that, I’d love to know it!

    Thanks…

This is mostly likely due to a conflict with your theme, something is overriding those dimensions. Can you post a link to the page you are working on so I can check it out?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I’m using the Atahualpa theme; I built the site originally locally, but just rebuilt it on the real server (it’s still very much just a beginning).

I noticed when I went to rebuild the slide show that on the Add Slide page, it says “Slide Image (940×200)” before I add any images. Could that be why the height is limited to 200px?

Anyway, here’s a link to the page: https://www.deafenedbylove.com/wp/?page_id=2

Update… I changed the landing page to the home page, so the new url is https://www.deafenedbylove.com/wp/

    Thanks!

No problem, 940×200 is the default slideshow dimensions. You should change those in the slideshow settings to match the dimensions of your slides.

Aha! i had already set the slideshow dimensions to the actual image size (609×287), but I guess I wasn’t doing things in the proper order! It probably says this in the documentation, and I just missed it: I now realize you have to set the dimensions of the slide show before you upload the slides, otherwise it forces them into the default dimensions.

I deleted all my slides, and re-uploaded them (keeping the slideshow dimensions as I had previously set them, at 609×287), and now the images are displaying at the correct size.

    Thanks!

Glad to hear you got it working!
